The intent of this page is to create a go-to source of information to contextualize Role Play situations.
Currently the format is broken down into: Common Knowledge - Events any character could reasonably have knowledge of. This season’s drought, or the existence of the Arizona Legion fall into this category Faction Knowledge - Events not widely known outside the faction(s) that had participated. Internal Ranger politics would fall into this category, others might know what’s going on, but it isn’t common knowledge. Controlled Knowledge(This one needs a better name…) - Events which a character will only be aware of if informed IN CHARACTER. On the other hand it can often be useful for players to know something their characters might not.
Please contribute as you see fit, and as new and exciting events occur in the Wastes.
Common Knowledge
There is an ongoing food shortage attributed to a poor growing season, and trade issues resulting from the ongoing conflict in the Arizona Deadlands. This has led to unrest and a marked increase in raider activity.
Word is that even Sindikat routes have been targeted, which points to the unprecedented severity of this food shortage.
Mysterious suited men are meddling in the affairs of various communities.
Faction Knowledge
This section will likely be reformatted. There has to be a better way to present this information.
Desert Rangers
After Billy Bob Caine (aka Armorjerk) stepped down as leader of the NNDR mysteriously, William Kurtz was officially reinstated. Major Mitchel Anderson was briefly the acting CO under Kurtz. General Malak Blackthorn was briefly in command, before his absence returned the post to Maj. Anderson.
Things to keep in mind while Role Playing a Ranger: -There is a lot of unpleasant history between the Rangers and… everyone. Remember, you aren’t a Wasteland Cop, you’re an engineer and survivalist. Don’t pontificate, don’t start trouble, try to make life better for those in the Ranger community. The example you can look to is straight out of Wasteland. Rangers headed out into the Wastes to discover the source of the rumors of a threat to the whole region, and ended up saving the world. They didn’t set out to right every wrong, it wasn’t an everyday activity, they had one rare cause and acted on it. Nathalie 02:37, 7 March 2012 (PST)
Badland Originals
Kabatic is in local command while Devil pursues his vision in the Arizona Deadlands. Rumor suggests tension is growing between Kabatic and Coydog about the mission of the Badlanders on the New Nevada Scale.
Sindikat
Upwards and onwards for the Sindikat, the USMC has been all but obliterated, Mekanika is flourishing under it’s growing cloud of smog. With raids on Sindikat routes increasing, a response is guaranteed.
Tribes of the Scorched Earth
