Lucus the Creator

Lucus is a giant ball of cheese and hair otherwise known as Clifton Jay Random Henning. He is responsible for about 90% of the guns and clothes you greedy little players have in your inventory. That is an exaggeration.

Lucus the Character

Little is known about the history of Lucus. According to legend, he claimed to be from Florida, but his half-Mexican blood and the unlikelihood that he traveled so far through unknown and dangerous territory say otherwise. The tales of Lucus in New Nevada begin with the Tribe of the Scorched Earth. While with the tribe, Lucus was known to be shaggy-haired, heavily tattooed, a competent gunsmith, and possessing a real knack for machinery. Lucus also proved to be a competent combatant, even appearing in the battle arena known as The Pit against a much larger and cybernetically-enhanced opponent. As the stories go, Lucus was never one to back down from a aggressor, even when completely outmatched.

Lucus left the Tribe over a dispute with the chief at the time, Kastyr. Lucus urged the tribe to ally with the Desert Rangers against the U.S.M.C., while the often-vacant Kastyr insisted the Tribe remain neutral and refused to interfere with what he saw as the problem of others. Seeing the U.S.M.C. as a serious threat to all the people of New Nevada, Lucus forged out to join the growing resistance. Sometime during this period, Lucus received a crippling injury, being shot at close range in the foot from a very powerful handgun. From this point on, he was seen wearing a brace on his left foot and often a widebrimmed fedora and assorted spiked clothing.

Lucus was one of the first to encounter the U.S.M.C. as they invaded New Nevada. At the primary confrontation with the U.S.M.C., Lucus fought to defend the Ranger Center along with the New Nevada Desert Rangers and many of their allies. It is believed that Lucus caused the explosion of a giant, nuclear-powered U.S.M.C. tank which he mysteriously infiltrated unassisted. The resulting explosion bathed the Ranger Center and its community in light radiation. After this, the stories around the man become much weirder. He is often only sighted in times of great need and with a great array of fantastic gadgets and abilities of unknown origin. There are various rumors, common ones including that the man is an android from the future, an agent of a shadowy organization possessing high-technology, or even an alien disguised as human. For some years, appearances of Lucus have dwindled and some believed him to be nothing more than a wasteland myth.

While, recently, some claim to have spotted Lucus around New Nevada again, these appearances have done nothing to clear up matters. The circumstances surrounding these appearances are often highly unusual, just like the Lucus of old, however they often revolve around what seem to be distinctly different people. While all the tales involve men fitting Lucus’s description, none of them possess the crippled left foot or tattoos and the men described in the accounts often don’t match each other either. Often, one Lucus is described as filthy, dressed in rags, and constantly muttering nonsense addressed to his arm, while the other described as disturbingly clean, calm, and collected.

One Appearance

Calm and collected, the man before you appears to be a being of supreme grace and posessing an aura of utter warmth. Despite the initial impression, there is something not quite right about this man. His deep brown eyes contain a surprising cold quality about them, almost entirely devoid of emotion. His breathing is rigidly controlled and almost labored even when at full rest. His stout and average body always moves in deliberate, calculated movements, often ritualistically so. The light brown complexion to his skin is perhaps too even and smooth, completely lacking of blemishes or scars. Every part of him is freshly clean, including the long, brown, and shaggy hair hanging around his shoulders. His perfectly straight and white teeth are framed by a distinct fu-manchu moustache, the ends of which hang down past his chin to rest on the long bushy beard he wears. A mild aromatic smell seems to emit from him, a bright and refreshing woody scent much like sandalwood.
